barrel length 19 cm (7,5) overall length 33,5 cm (13,2") weight 1,2 kg, year of manufacture 1854, no proof visible, condition III.
On the top of the octagonal barrel is the typical inscription "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY", on the left side of the frame "COLT'S PATENT", The grip is nickel plated, The gun is matching numbers. The number appears 4 times: on the barrel, on the frame and twice on the grip. Smooth walnut grip panels, typical but shallow engraving with maritime scene on barrel. Good, spotty condition with circa 50% finish. Possibly the revolver was reworked a long time ago. Included is an old but not contemporary Colt wooden case (veneered), lined inside with red velvet. In the accessory compartment is the key, a brass crest, and the catch ring, which is removed as it does not fit into the recess in the cartridge for the grip. Overall a good ensemble.
